| If the hogs are multiplying like crazy, wont the hogs eat most of the acorns and kind of starve out the deer? I know the ones on my property seen to just tear the ground up below oak and hickory trees finding every last nut. | |

| Well lets think about this for a second. There is no way that the hogs would starve out the deer. Come on now! Those deer will get up on there back legs and get the acorns off the tree and eat leaves. Hogs can not do this. So if anything I think they State needs to raise the limit on deer we can take a year. The deer are starving out the hogs that is why they root around looking for anything to eat. Now doesn't that make sense? We should be able to take 3 bucks and 4 does like it use to be. | |

| sure the elephants and giraffes are starving them out to. Hogs steal all the good acorns, even the damn squirrels hate them. The squirrels work so hard digging and hiding their nuts all fall, then they sleep and at night the hogs come steal all their goodies! | |

It cant happen, the deer will kill the hogs off first. I was in a tree one hot July about 2 years ago. I was squirrel hunting with a home-made blow-gun and poison darts. When I saw this hog rutting around. Just as it was getting into range of my dart, this buck still in velvet came out of the brush to my left. It circled the hog, the hog froze as if it knew the danger ahead of him. The buck let out three grunts, then 5 more bucks came flying out of the woods from all around me. They began to take turns stabbing the hog until it bled out. Just as I thought it couldnt get any more strange, the biggest buck let out more grunts. With that, a beaver came from the creek and started cutting up the hog. Little rabbits and chipmonks came and hung the meat in the trees in the sun. Pretty soon the hog was completely proccessed. I didnt take any squirrels home that day, but I got some nice hams. So, in conclusion of my intelligent answer, no, hogs will not starve the deer. | |

| the hogs might not starve them out, but they could take a lot of their natural food away. Last fall I have thousands of acorns and hickory nuts on the ground. I was dreading raking all of them. Just 1 night when about 60 hogs were in my yard. Every nut around was gone! Im pretty sure the deer is going to have some competition with all these hogs getting food. Especially the last 3 years it has frosted after the oak trees were bloomed out, and only a % of the trees actually grew acorns. Not to mention the same thing happened with the persimmon trees in my area. | |

| Yeah your right there. There will always be competition. That is just part of nature. No one is debating that. We are just saying the hogs could never starve the deer out. | |
