Anyone want to start trapping with me?

I am new to it but I would like to try out some trapping and skinning skills. We could go around the lake, and creeks, or rivers.

Where are ya wanting to trap at? I dont' have any pictures i can load on here,i got some on myspace and some hard copies tho.

Ill trap anywhere but would like to trap around lake hudson. What did you trap?

Alot of racoon, possum, a few skunks,been tryin to get a bobcat but that aint' happened yet..i aint no professional but i'm learning.lol..have you ever been to a trappers convention? I went to Mena Arkansas for one in july, they have everything possible for trapping, but they also have free classes and things like that..it was a lot of fun, they bring in professional trappers and hobby trappers that run big trap lines too. Everybody there was nice and helpful. They answered any and alll questions. I don't know when the next closest one will be but they should holler and let me know. When i hear anything i will post it on here..

Got some more traps ordered and should be here in about a week...can't wait till season gets here..

I just got some lil grizz dog proof coon traps.

Where did ya get them from? Them are nice and easy too..depends on how you set them but most of the time you won't even need bait or lure.

I bought them on ebay.

When can we start putting the traps out?

I do alot of trapping mostly water sets because if you look at the regs thats about all you can do on public land unless you want to use a live box trap. Which I wouldn't mind using the box traps but I LOST 5 THE FIRST YEAR I was using them. people like to steal them and at 40.00 to 125.00 a shot its not cheap to replace. but if you wan't to learn just shot me a message and I will see what I can do. I start the 1st of Dec and run the season out. trap RACCOON, MINK, OPOSSUM, BOBCAT, BEAVER, STRIPED SKUNK & COYOTE.

Would you be able to run your traps everyday? I trap but with work it never works out. Maybe we can work something out.

By state regs you have to run them every 24 hours or face a fine. If there is a day I cannt I pull them the day b4 then just reset when I can start checking them again

I got the traps i ordered the other day and right on the time they said..I order my trapping supplies from R-P Outdoors out of Lousiana, or pick it up at trapping conventions..R-P can set you up and they offer good advise for any quetions you have and don't try to sell you anything you don't need. I ordered a 330 for beaver but forgot to order the setter and recieved a phone call from them asking if i had used any coniber style traps before..They gave me advise on what else i would need that way i wouldn't have to pay for shipping twice, Or have to wait on another order..To say the least i have been very pleased with all my orders from them...Now if only Dec 1 would get here so i can set and run my line..LOL..Well i guess i'll just have to enjoy the deer season and all the other seasons in between..

Conibear style traps can’t be used in Oklahoma they are out lawed, unless its depredation and you have to let the animal lay and you have to report any and all animals u caught in the trap and the location where the animal was taken. Read the regs guys you get caught outside the law trapping you risk losing your vehicle your traps you’re hunting and trapping lic.

Very good point and i totally agree to check all regs and rules before you do anything including buying gear. I was informed that as long as it was used on my property to control beavers then it was allowed. We have been shooting them the past couple of years but figured trapping would be more benificial..I was not informed however that the animal must lay..Thanks for the warning and i will definatly get that cleared up before season starts.
